Don Gorney, Amos Butler Audobon, President

Don is the current president of Amos Butler Audubon, serving central Indiana, and a former chair of the Indiana Bird Records Committee. Don is interested in the historical record of bird species and man's influence on their populations. In his current position with Audubon, he oversees multiple avian conservation projects including Lights Out Indy, which promotes extinguishing unnecessary night lighting at prominent buildings to reduce bird mortality and wasteful energy usage. Don believes that awareness can be a motivating factor for people and decision makers to make better choices involving human interactions with nature.
